Prayers for those killed on May 2 to be offered up in all churches of the Odessa Diocese

With the blessing of His Eminence Metropolitan Agafangel of Odessa and Izmail, on June 10, the fortieth day since the tragic events in the city of Odessa on May 2, 2014, services for repose of the victims are to be performed in all churches of the diocese.

All believers of Odessa are encouraged to come to churches on that day to pray together with the clergy for those killed in Odessa, reports Pravoslavie v Odesse. The Orthodox Church has a tradition of praying for the souls of the dead on the fortieth day after death.
