71 год назад гитлеровская Германия напала на СССР. Каким оказался наш солдат в глазах врага - солдат немецких? Как выглядело начало войны из чужих окопов? Весьма красноречивые ответы на эти вопросы можно обнаружить в книге, автор которой едва ли может быть обвинен в искажении фактов. Это «1941 год глазами немцев. Березовые кресты вместо железных» английского историка Роберта Кершоу, которая недавно опубликована в России. Книга практически целиком состоит из воспоминаний немецких солдат и офицеров, их писем домой и записей в личных дневниках.

An Orthodox missionary delegation from the USA was on a visit to the Parish of the Holy Trinity in Ulan Bator from June 7 to 19, 2012.

—We tried our best to use contemporary materials and technology but to build the church in the Yaroslav style of the 16th-17th centuries. The philosophical basis of this was provided by Fr Dimitry, who later became Bishop Daniel (Alexandrov). He was a sort of Leonardo da Vinci: he knew 15 languages, was a wonderful icon-painter, built several churches in America, and was just a remarkable person in general. He clearly, and strictly, advised us to build in the Yaroslav style, because that was the last genuinely-Russian church style.

On June 19, 2012, with the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Mark of Berlin and Germany, Vice President of the Synod of Bishops of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, the miracle-working Kursk-Root Icon of the Mother of God “of the Sign” was brought to the construction site of a new stavropighial Church of All Saints in Strasbourg, France.
