Начав преподавать, я старался избежать того, что мне самому не нравилось в лекциях моих профессоров. Я быстро понял, что для лектора самое важное и самое трудное — контакт с аудиторией.

Как писал А.С. Панарин, в конце ХХ века история России трагически повторилась.

Я оказался среди воцерковленных русских людей, при этом людей, не отгораживающихся от мира как чего-то чуждого и враждебного, но открытых миру и несущих этому миру свет. Не озлобляющихся на мир, а жалеющих его. Вот такие люди окружали владыку.

Очевидно, что твердая позиция аскета по отношению к людскому общению вызывает в душе человека эпохи технического прогресса неоднозначную и часто противоречивую реакцию.
