Преподобный Макарий родился в Египте около 301 года. По кончине родителей и жены он покинул мир и поселился в пустыне, где прожил три года в безмолвном иноческом житии. После чего отправился к основателю египетского монашества преподобному Антонию Великому, став его преданным учеником и последователем.

And this moral consensus is determined by the voice of human conscience. And righteousness grows on this," the primate of the Russian Orthodox Church said.

Think on this: the first Christians—Jews all—who regularly recited Israel’s Sh’ma’, apparently feeling no strain on their strict monotheistic conviction, and without significant dissent among their membership, begin to include a human being, Jesus of Nazareth, in their prescribed and official references to the God revealed in the Burning Bush. How, for heaven’s sake, did this come to be?

Fr. John Whiteford answers the question: “I have heard it argued that the phrase in the Liturgy, “A mercy of peace, a sacrifice of praise” is both nonsensical and a corruption of an earlier text. Is this correct, and if not, what does the phrase mean?”

"The Church cannot remain indifferent to economic processes that have a negative influence on mankind. It insists on the necessity not only of building the economy on a moral basis, but of actively serving people with its help."

Repetition? It has its place. Most of our Orthodox prayer is very theologically complex and instructive. You get a seminary education, just being in church. But there are times when a simple, repeated prayer is just right.
