On Wednesday, August 19, 2015, the feast of Transfiguration of the Lord, His Grace Bishop George (Schaefer) of Canberra, Vicar Bishop of the Diocese of Australia and New Zealand of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR), headed the celebrations of the patronal feast of the Holy Transfiguration’s Monastery, situated in Bombala in New South Wales (Southeastern Australia), at the foot of the Snowy Mountains.
