Akathist Hymn to Joachim and Anna, Ancestors of God

Today we commemorate the Conception by St. Anna of the Most Holy Mother of God. This miraculous conception of the girl who would later conceive the Only Begotten Son of God in her womb of the Holy Spirit, the Virgin Mary, makes the aged, holy righteous Joachim and Anna the grandparents of our Lord. It is fitting for us to pray to them, as we do in the litanies at all our divine services. And in honor of these holy parents, we may also pray an Akathist Hymn.

Saint Patapios of Thebes, the Wonderworker

Metropolitan Dionysios of Servia and Kozani

Of the many miracles and healings of Saint Patapios, we would mention only one: he healed a woman who was suffering from breast cancer. Even now, faithful people go to the convent of Saint Patapios, on the hill above Loutraki in Attica, to seek the grace of Christ, and also healing, through the prayers of Saint Patapios.
