Hierarchs and clergy of the Bulgarian and Macedonian Orthodox Churches came together on Sunday to celebrate the feast of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, the Enlighteners of the Slavs, “as an expression of Orthodox unity between the fraternal Macedonian and Bulgarian peoples.”
During his trip, Bishop Dimitrios visited four dioceses and several churches and monasteries and met with five different hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Over the past week, hierarchs from two Sister Local Churches made this pilgrimage to seek the blessing and intercession of the great St. Nektarios.
The enthronement of the new abbot of the Athonite Zographou Monastery (Bulgarian), Fr. Gavriil (Karatotev), was festively celebrated on Sunday, May 11.
