On August 5th, 2001 at the Monastery erected in honor of the Nativity of the Mother of God in Sanaksar, they glorified the blessed holy warrior Fyodor Ushakov, canonized as a local saint of the Russian Orthodox Church. This was the first appearance of a saint in shoulder-straps—a navy officer—in the Russian church calendar.

In the evening of July 28, a formal concert program, attended by numerous clergy including hierarchs of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA and Canada as well as political dignitaries, was held in Kiev at the St. Michael's Square, honoring the spiritual and poltical legacy of Great Prince Vladimir.
