В Москве издана необычная искусствоведческая книга – «Антиискусство: Записки очевидца» Андрея Яхнина. То, чем она особенно интересна, выражено в подзаголовке: автор – в прошлом успешный инсайдер современного арт-мира, вышедший из него (и это – вторая составляющая системы координат) в 1995-м после принятий крещения.

Священников на службу призывает Господь, вдов – Он же – через ушедших к Нему мужей, умоливших Его стать оставленным на земле женам надеждой и опорой. Потому и живут вдовы при храмах, и каждой из них Бог назначает свое служение. И не будь вдов среди нас, многие ли узнают, как иногда трагично и всегда потрясающе входит Господь в человеческую судьбу, меняя ее навсегда? Милосердием преображая мир…

В январе 2012 года в Таиланде был завершен почти трехлетний труд по переводу на тайский язык «Закона Божия» протоиерея Серафима Слободского. Перевод осуществили: иерей Данай (Даниил) Ванна, первый православный священник-таец, закончивший полный курс Санкт-Петербургской духовной семинарии; г-жа Напатра Апхичатапхонг — бывший официальный переводчик с английского языка Парламента Таиланда, в настоящее время обучающаяся в СПбДС; г-н Йингсак Сатсен, специалист по русскому языку. Общую редакцию издания выполнил представитель Русской Православной Церкви в Таиланде архимандрит Олег (Черепанин). О проекте сайту Санкт-Петербургской духовной академии рассказала Напатра Апхичатапхонг.

When Fr. Andrei began serving at that church, the area was surrounded by agricultural fields and forest. There were no roads leading to the village, which consisted of a few old houses. Nevertheless, parishioners travelled from Moscow and sloshed through the thick mud to reach that holy place. Fr. Andrei welcomed all who came to pray at the Divine Services, and a warm meal was always ready afterwards.

On 8 February 2012, presidential nominee Vladimir Putin, currently Russian Prime Minister, met with His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and with leaders of traditional religious communities in Russia. Ongoing Syrian unrests are being instigated by foreigners, The Supreme Head of the Universal Syriac Orthodox Church, His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka said on Sunday at a meeting with Russian political experts visiting the country.

Salafi Muslims in the area of el-Amerya, with the complicity of the police and state authorities, set fire to Christian homes and shops, and forced several families to leave the country under the threat of further violence. On 30 January a crowd of Muslims attacked the village of Kobry- el-Sharbat for the second time, setting fire to three Christian homes.

“Of course Syrian Christians are afraid. They have much to lose and they know it, Even if this absurd conflict that pits brothers against each other, Christians have nothing to do with it and they will be the ones, as a minority, who may have to pay the highest price of this absurd war,” said a Christian priest, who spoke to MISNA from Syria, while the armed forces continue pounding Homs, the opposition stronghold.

In January, 2012, an almost three-year-long effort came to a successful conclusion. Protopriest Seraphim Slobodskoy’s The Law of God was translated into the Thai language. This was done by Priest Danai (Daniel) Vanna, the first Thai Orthodox priest, a graduate of St Petersburg Theological Seminary; Mrs Naparta Aphichataphong, former official translator of English for the Parliament of Thailand, now studying at SPTS; and Mr Yingsak Samsen, a specialist in the Russian language.

On February 9, 2012, Archbishop Mark of Yegoryevsk, director of the Moscow Patriarchate’s office for institutions abroad, who is on a visit to Thailand, consecrated the church dedicated to the Dormition of the Mother of God at the Monastery of the Dormition in Ratchaburi.
