Almost half of all Germans will be watching less television, and almost eighty percent will abstain from alcohol.
During the forty-day fast, which [for Catholics] began on Wednesday, March 9, nearly a third of those living in Germany (28 percent) have announced that they will abstain from computer games, and will use the internet less, reports DW-WORLD, which cites data from a sociological census conducted by Forsa.
Almost half of all respondents (48 percent) have decided to shorten the amount of time they spend in front of the television. 78 percent said that they will abstain from alcohol, and 53 percent promise that they will smoke less.
One out of every two respondents (48 percent) tries to abstain from meat and 69 percent will stay away from sweets.
