According to the Information Centre of the UOC, Deputy Head of the Department for External Relations of the UOC Archpriest Mykolai Danylevych reported that believers covered the way from St. Volodymyr's Hill to the Kyiv-Caves Monastery.
“This religious procession is an important event, because it involved about 20,000 believers, both Kyivites and pilgrims from all over Ukraine. It is important that people living in different regions of Ukraine have seen each other in this religious procession, and have prayed together for peace and unity in our country,” Danylevych noted.
Just prior to the procession eight icons of the Mother of God brought from different regions of Ukraine were welcomed at 14.00 at St Volodymyr's Hill near the monument to St. Volodymyr the Great. A solemn prayer service was held to mark the 1000th anniversary of the repose of Prince Volodymyr.
Upon arrival in the Kyiv Cave Monastery, the Vigil service began in the Assumption Cathedral Square. The icons were present for veneration throughout the service.
On July 28 at 09.00, the festive Divine Liturgy was held at the Kyiv-Caves Monastery. The miraculous icons were available for veneration on July 27 and 28.
