The First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad Participates In the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church For the First Time

Moscow, October 7, 2010

The Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church met in Moscow on October 6, 2010. In his keynote address, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia noted that this is the first time that a Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia participates in a regular session of this body. "This bears witness to the fact that the process set in motion by the signing of the Act of Canonical Communion is developing, and, with God's aid, will continue in the future," said the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.
