Unidentified criminals buried alive 78-year monk Lazar (Alexeyev) from Verkhnyaya Krinitsa village of the Zaporozhye Region, Ukraine.
"Father Lazar went to Pologi village to see his spiritual children and most likely got off at the Chekrak station (Kamenskoye village) where he met his future murders," website of the local church dedicated to Holy Royal Martyrs Nicholas and Alexandra reports.
Father Lazar took monastic vows more than a year ago and then he lived at this church.
Policemen dug out the monk. Thanks to the efficient work of the criminal investigation department and doctors Father Lazar lived on artificial lung several hours and then passed away without regaining consciousness.
The church community addressed authorities of the Vasilyevsk District to "give the body of the murdered monk for church burial service."
