In October, members of the Board of Directors of the International Kyiv Interfaith Forum, Patriarch Theophilos IIIof Jerusalem, Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus will come to Ukraine.
It was reported by the Forum Head, Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Feldman, who recently went a working trip to Israel, according to Espresso TV.
The purpose of the visit is to discuss the situation in Ukraine and join efforts to end the war and the fight against religious extremism and xenophobia in the world.
“All religious leaders are closely following the developments in Ukraine, they really worry about our country, and they support it and wish a speedy return of peace and stability,” Olexandr Feldman said. “Therefore the result of the meeting was the decision that the spiritual leaders will hold joint prayer for Ukraine, during which they will call for a restoration of peace.”
Olexander Feldman also said that during the meeting, the members of the Board of Directors of the International Kyiv Interfaith Forum, Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and Archbishop Chrysostomos II of Cyprus, discussed a number of issues relating to the need to purify society from evil, violence and intolerance, particularly in Africa and the Middle East.
As was previously reported, the International Interfaith Forum in Kyiv annually brings together in Ukraine religious, scientific, and diplomatic from more than twenty nations.
