Patriarch Theodoros II of Alexandria and All Africa is due to make a private pilgrimage to the Russian Orthodox Church from August 19 to August 29.
The program of the patriarch's pilgrimage includes a visit to the Solovetsky Monastery, as well as the Irkutsk and Yekaterinburg dioceses, the Moscow Patriarchate Department For External Church Relations said on its website on Tuesday.
During his visit to Moscow, Patriarch Theodoros II is expected to meet with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia.
The Church of Alexandria is one of the world's 15 local Orthodox Churches. Legend has it that it was founded by Saint Mark the Evangelist. Nowadays, it has approximately 6 million followers.
