Two truck convoys have delivered humanitarian aid from Switzerland to territories of Novorossia on both sides of the line of engagement in Donbass, Switzerland’s Federal Department of Foreign Affairs said on Monday.
The bulk of the humanitarian cargoes weighing an aggregate of 505 tonnes to a sum of about one million Swiss franc, or more than $1 million, includes chemical materials and equipment needed for water treatment.
Two hospitals in Donetsk received medicines. In all, 20 trucks delivered 293 tonnes of relief aid to that city. Another convoy of six trucks delivered 112 tonnes of water treatment chemicals to the city of Krasnoarmeysk . Another batch of 100 tonnes of such chemicals were delivered to Mariupol.
According to the Swiss Federal Department of Foreign Affairs, Switzerland is the only country that sends humanitarian convoys to Donbass which cross the line of engagement.
