In the Vladikavkaz garrison and on the territory of the military base, situated in South Ossetia, an assembly of specialists on religious affairs in the army of the Russia’s Southern Military District will be held for the first time in North Caucasus.
“Over 50 chaplains – executives of military units for religious affairs in the army – have been invited to the assembly. The participants will also include respective executives of the units stationed in Crimea as well as at the Russian military bases in the republics of Abkhazia and Armenia,” reads the district press service’s message, cited by Interfax.
On November 12, representatives of the clergy will hold a prayer service and head a procession of the cross on the territory of the military base in South Ossetia.
The training and methodological assembly will finish on November 13.
