As the darkness is swallowing up the territories controlled by IS, bringing death, blood and terror to Christians, second Supreme Leader of the Republic of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei is giving joy and hope by visiting a Christian family on the Christmas holidays, reports Tayyar.org with reference to the OTV Lebanese TV channel’s information service.
It has been reported that Ali Khamenei, one of the leaders of the Iranian Islamic Revolution, on Christmas Eve visited relatives of Robert Lazar, a Christian, who had been killed during the Islamic Revolution back in the 1970s at the age of eighteen.
“It is hard to express my gladness! The Supreme Leader himself will be visiting us? I cannot believe this!” Lazar the Senior said. For several years the family did not know the fate of their son – he was missing – but they bore their sorrow with fortitude hoping that they would see him again one day. Ali Khamenei stressed that the story of their family makes everyone be proud of them and of the whole nation.
The spiritual authority of the Shiah Iran has noted the firmness and fortitude of the Christian communities that ably overcame deep dissension with the country’s Muslims which had emerged in the 20th century.
“We should go hand by hand in order to build new Iran. In this case there is no difference between a Christian and a Muslim – we are all Iranians,” said Robert Lazar’s mother. “When our motherland is to be defended, then it does not matter who you are: give us weapons and we will defend our country.”
“Despite all wars and persecutions Iranian Christians have remained unshakable, and the united Iranian nation has proved its maturity and religious toleration to everybody,” the theologian said.
Towards the end of his visit Ali Khamenei thanked the Lazars for their hearty welcome, wished the couple long life and patience in the year ahead.
