According
to a report issued by
Romfea.gr, a fire
broke out shortly before ten in the morning, in the
building of the Archdiocese in Nicosia, resulting in the
temporary evacuation of the building.

The fire was extinguished about half an hour later by the fire brigade.
A fire brigade spokesman said the fire broke out in a basement room, used as a stationery warehouse, which was closed at that hour.
Specialists will carry out further investigation of the cause of the fire.
