For the first time in Russia, a charitable medical diagnostic center for female health, Belaya Roza (White Rose), opened on the initiative of the Russian President's wife in the Resurrection Novodevichy Monastery in Petersburg.
As was reported on the President's website, the center would focus on prevention and detection of female oncology diseases at early stages. Gynecologists, breast physicians, radiologists and oncologists will work in the center, there are cabinets of mammography and diagnostic ultrasound.
Svetlana Medevedeva said at the opening ceremony that state, Church and society would provide women with medical services free of charge.
In the future, similar centers are to open in other cities of Russia.
