“Now we are making great efforts in order to build hundreds of churches in the capital city of Moscow alone,” reminded His Holiness Patriarch Kirill after the Divine Liturgy at the Dormition Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin on the feast of The Presentation (Entry) of the Mother of God into the Temple.
“This is not an easy task; but if it were easy, it would not be so significant and blessed. For, overcoming the difficulties, we are growing together with these churches and are moving towards the Lord,” noted the patriarch.
“I would like especially to thank our activists, including representatives of our youth, who are assisting in erection of these new temples, who are participating in many public events, particularly when some people are beginning to doubt whether they need another church or not, when under the influence of certain external forces a person is suddenly answering himself or herself that he or she needs another car park or shopping center, but not a church. When such controversy emerges it is so important that Orthodox people, which include the youth, our volunteers, should be able to help other people find a right answer.
I believe that in spite of the existing difficulties the Lord will help us build new churches, found liturgical, Eucharistic communities and parishes in our capital, and not only in the capital but throughout the Russian Orthodox Church,” head of the Russian Church stressed.
