The Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate has announced the launch of a project that enables internet users to take a virtual tour of Orthodox churches of Estonia.
The project is based on interactive spherical panoramas. With their help you will be able to examine the exterior of each temple represented in the project, to take a good look at their unique interiors and decorations, and, from a bird's eye view, to admire the inimitable panoramas of the churches and their surroundings.
The website, “Churches of the Estonian Orthodox Church – a virtual introduction”, (Hramy.ee), was created with the financial support of “the Orthodox Initiative” international open grants competition, reports BaltNews.ee.
All the temples of the Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate as well as those of the Holy Dormition Stavropegic Convent in Pyukhtitsy are represented on the pages of the resource.
In addition to the photo materials, you will find descriptions of churches and will learn their history on the site.
The work was carried out by the firm EDS Systems (360pano.eu) at the request of the Estonian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate. The photographer is Andrei Bodrov.
Aerial photography was executed with the participation of Skycam.ee. 109 panoramas were made in total.
