A Wisconsin-based Planned Parenthood abortion clinic is closing because it can’t find anyone to kill unborn babies in abortions.

The Planned Parenthood clinic in Appleton, in northeastern Wisconsin is suspending abortions. WBAY-TV reports that the Appleton North Health Center stopped doing abortions on October 14 because it can’t find an abortion practitioner to work there. The facility says it will resume abortions in six months assuming it can find a new abortionist.

Planned Parenthood is referring women seeking abortions to clinics in Madison and Milwaukee in the meantime.

Pro-Life Wisconsin officials emailed LifeNews.com saying they are delighted by the news.

“Last week, Pro-Life Wisconsin learned that the abortion facility in Appleton Wisconsin will no longer perform abortions. Thanks be to God! This is a huge victory for the many pro-lifers who have prayed and sacrificed for an end to abortions in the Green Bay area,” it said. “Keep praying that their doors would remain shut permanently. ”

The Appleton Planned Parenthood abortion clinic shut down briefly previously after Governor Scott Walker signed a bill allowing women to see an ultrasound of their unborn baby before an abortion. The law also requires that in order to legally perform an abortion, a doctor must have admitting privileges at a hospital within 30 miles of where the abortion will occur. That was cited as the reason for the closure at that time.

“If there’s a long waiting list, that’s a real problem for women getting access. It’s a problem for their health. It can lead to tragic consequences. Just the sheer distance is a tremendous barrier,” the abortion company said then.

Governor Scott Walker signed Senate Bill 206 (Sonya’s Law) into law. This important new law requires that women seeking abortions in Wisconsin be given the opportunity to see their unborn children through ultrasound.

“We thank Governor Walker for signing this important piece of legislation into law,” said Wisconsin Right to Life then. “Sonya’s Law will empower women to make truly informed decisions regarding how they will proceed with their pregnancies and will protect the lives of women who experience complications after their abortions.”

There are some flaws here. The illustration is of the Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains -- nowhere near Appleton, WI. Planned Parenthood's Appleton Central Health Center remains open and taking appointments. The functions of providing abortions is only a fraction of Planned Parenthood's activities therefore the discontinuation of abortion is not in itself a valid reason for a Planned Parenthood clinic to close. That said, lest someone believe otherwise, I am opposed to human abortions.
