St. Petersburg, January 4, 2015
On Saturday, January 3, volunteers of the “Warriors of Life” pro-life movement held a rally near the Mariinskaya municipal hospital on the Liteiny Avenue of St. Petersburg.
Through loudspeakers they called upon the medics not to participate in abortions any more. Nobody can assist in killing of unborn children—even those who open the doors before the women willing to have abortions can be called accomplices in the crime of infanticide, let alone those who make abortion appointments, give anaesthetics, and so on.
Correctness of these calls was confirmed by the banners with documentary photographs on them showing babies who had been killed by abortions inside their mothers’ wombs. Also the standing participants held banners with images of living pre-born children on them demonstrating the indisputable fact that a pre-born baby is a human being.
The activists alternated their short speeches with readings from the Psalter.
Abortions in the Mariinskaya hospital, among other things, are an insult to the memory of the outstanding physician Eugeny Sergeevich Botkin (1865-1918), who worked here. Botkin went together with the family of the last Russian emperor to the exile in Siberia, where he was executed by shooting in the (merchant’s) Ipatiev House near Yekaterinburg in summer 1918.
Killing babies in the Mariinskaya hospital by means of abortions is also an insult to the memory of Orthodox Christians who built this clinic and labored in it.
