Four armed Islamists were arrested near Visoki Decani Monastery in Metohija on January 31.
According to abbot of the monastery, Archimandrite Sava (Janjic), as a result of the combined actions of the Kosovan police and the Kosovo defense forces a Kalashnikov and a handgun were found in the automobile on which the Islamists had driven up to the monastery gate.
Archimandrite Sava has also reported that no monks or monastery workers were injured in the incident.
It is not the first incident of this kind. Not long ago, red and black graffiti was scrawled on some of outbuildings of Visoki Decani Monastery: UCK (the Kosovo Liberation Army), AKSh (the Albanian National Army), ISIS (the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant), “The Caliphate is Coming”, as well as some graffiti in Arabic.
