Moscow, October 5, 2010
Acting Moscow Mayor Vladimir Resin said the capital's authorities are ready to transfer former cult building to religious organizations.
"Today the question of transferring religious property to ownership or limited use of religious organizations is raised. A corresponding bill passed the first reading in the State Duma and divided Russia's Public Chamber," Resin said at a session of Moscow government on Tuesday.
He pointed out that "Moscow is principally ready to transfer former churches, mosques, synagogues and parochial buildings in case the federal law is finally adopted. We need to start works on inventorying former church property so that the city can prepare necessary premises and realize the future federal law without conflicts," Resin said.
